FIRST ANNUAL PUMPKINS AGAINST CANCER

MISSION: Let’s help bring awareness to the appalling lack of funding in pediatric cancer research, get our neighbors (starting with our children) involved in giving back to our great community while having fun!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Decorate a pumpkin. Any type of pumpkin art is welcome. Some examples are carved or painted fresh pumpkins, pumpkin sculptures, pumpkin floral arrangements, pumpkin tablescape, paintings of pumpkins, etc. They can be live or faux pumpkins. Foam pumpkins can be carved for years of enjoyment. Please send a picture of your creation that we can use on the auction site. Good lighting, please. WHEN: Now!! Pumpkin submission- drop your decorated pumpkin off to the Brentwood Library this Saturday, October 22 through Monday, October 24. You will be asked to complete a pumpkin entrant form with your information. (Link to form ) The pumpkins will be displayed at the Brentwood library the week of October 23rd. Sherri Baker will happily pick up your pumpkin to deliver to the library. Text or call 615.437.9828 for arrangements.

AUCTION: An online auction to auction off the pumpkins will be hosted by Vanderbilt, and every penny goes straight to the cause of the Hartung Family's choice: VUMC Pediatric Cancer/Sarcoma Research in honor of the WARRIOR Chase Hartung. Donations can also be made on the auction site. Auction site to go live on Monday, 10/24/22!

Bids can come from anywhere, but only local pickup is available, no shipping. If an out of area bidder wins, they may choose to donate the pumpkin to the Vanderbilt children's hospital or a local elder care facility, or arrange pickup by a family member or friend. Pickup will be after noon on 10/28/22. Sherri will deliver to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital if desired.
